Sudden loss of access to accounts via AdWords API multiple MCCs

We manage a number of accounts via a software tool, and we have just noticed today that a bunch of manager accounts suddenly lost access to their customers.  This occasionally happens for normal reason, but you can see the following numbers indicate an unusual event:

       21 [30 Nov 2020
      3 [1 Dec 2020
      1 [2 Dec 2020
      3 [4 Dec 2020
      2 [8 Dec 2020
      2 [9 Dec 2020
      1 [10 Dec 2020
   1256 [14 Dec 2020

Some 704 of these regained access a few hours later.  The event started at:
14 Dec 2020 11:47:41 GMT and ran until 14 Dec 2020 12:33:25 GMT.  Access was regained for many of these customers at 14 Dec 2020 12:49:43 GMT.  Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Hi Dean,

Thanks for reaching out. There isn't a widespread API issue that we can point to related to the access change with your accounts. Is the loss of access specific to the API or have you noticed this in the UI as well? If it's the latter case, I would recommend reaching out to product support.

If the issue is API specific, can you please reply privately with a sample of customer client IDs with regained access and IDs that are still not accessible?
