I am having issues with rejected characters in certain niche languages.

Is there:

- a list of which languages the Ads API officially supports (does it match the Google Translation API, or are there differences?)
- a list of any extra invalid characters for KeywordPlans in foreign languages. The ones I'm aware of and already strip out are (as a PHP array):

[':', ',', '!', '@', '%', '^', '(', ')', '=', '{', '}', ';', '~', '`', '<', '>', '?', "\", '|','.']

Also does Google do any post-processing on keywords?

I'm aware of the conversion to lower case when the results are returned (though this doesn't seem to be documented officially anywhere).  I'm seeing spaces removed from Japanese, for example, and extra spacing added in Korean, compared to Google translate results - I realise there may be grammar and syntax rules in the specific language for doing this, but I'm unclear how the Ads API figures it out, if it doesn't match what I see in the Cloud Translation API…

Thanks for your help,
William

Hi William,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Kindly see below responses to your queries:

- a list of which languages the Ads API officially supports (does it match the Google Translation API, or are there differences?)

>> Kindly note that Google Ads API officially supports only the English language. However, for targeting criteria, you may find this document.

>> Extra invalid characters for KeywordPlans are related to a specific client library. I recommend you to reach out to the respective client library owner by filing an issue on the issue tracker on the Issue tab of your chosen client library on github, so that they can provide guidance on it.

Also does Google do any post-processing on keywords?
