Migrating Types and Enums from the AdWords API to the Google Ads API

Hi,

I was looking at the follwoing migration page for AdWords -> GoogleAds API.
Migrating Types and Enums from the AdWords API to the Google Ads API 

It is a great resource for the changes for AdType and AppCampaignBiddingStrategyGoalType. Do you think you could complete the page for other types? For instance, the AdGroupType offerings have changed and the changes are not listed there.

For example, as mentioned in this previous post:

In the AdWords API "Shopping - Showcase" is supported:

Adgroup Performance Report  |  AdWords API  |  Google Developers 

But in GoogleAds API it is not:

AdGroupType  |  Google Ads API  |  Google Developers

 

Any further resources on Types and Enums that have been changed or deprecated in the new GoogleAds API would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Kevin,

Could you provide more details on the AdGroupType offerings that you wish to include in the migration document from AdWords API to Google Ads API?

I asked this because this is not listed in the supported ad group type on this link. Please clarify this so I can raise a feature request to your concern.

The ad group types supported in the AdWords API are different than the ad group types supported in the GoogleAds API.

In AdWords the following are supported:

UNKNOWN
SEARCH_STANDARD
DISPLAY_STANDARD  

SHOPPING_PRODUCT_ADS  

HOTEL_ADS   

VIDEO_BUMPER  

VIDEO_TRUE_VIEW_IN_STREAM  

VIDEO_TRUE_VIEW_IN_DISPLAY  

VIDEO_NON_SKIPPABLE_IN_STREAM  

SEARCH_DYNAMIC_ADS
DISPLAY_ENGAGEMENT
SHOPPING_SHOWCASE_ADS
SHOPPING_GOAL_OPTIMIZED_ADS

In GoogleAds the following are supported:

UNSPECIFIED
UNKNOWN
SEARCH_STANDARD
DISPLAY_STANDARD
SHOPPING_PRODUCT_ADS
HOTEL_ADS
SHOPPING_SMART_ADS
VIDEO_BUMPER
VIDEO_TRUE_VIEW_IN_STREAM
VIDEO_TRUE_VIEW_IN_DISPLAY

These are different, so I would like a corresponding guide that could tell us what's moved, what's new, and what's no longer supported (with attached blog post as you've done for ads, if possible).

Hi Anthony,

Thank you for passing the request - would it also be possible to make that page more comprehensive and cover all other changes in Types and Enums? I am working on some migration from AdWords API to GoogleAds API and it would be really handy to have a single reference that I can point to in order to explain why something's missing or different.
