Hello,
We are updating Sitelink management from Feed Based Extensions to the new upgraded Asset Based Extensions. I found it's quite easy to create new Sitelinks in the Shared library using the AssetOperation and the setCreate command.

However I'm having trouble to find a way how to delete Sitelinks from the Shared Library once they are created, I see that in "https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/fields/v9/asset" it says "Assets are immutable and cannot be removed". Is there another service that must be used instead?

Many thanks in advance!

Kind regards,

Christoph

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Ads API support. The AssetService only supports create operations. Once an asset is uploaded to an advertiser's account, it cannot be changed or removed programmatically. Instead, use ad-level operations to manage the associations between individual assets and ads, please check on this documentation.

Let me know if you have further clarifications.

Hello Jakeia,

Many thanks for your help!

So did I understand this right?
- We create / modify Sitelinks in the Shared library with the API
- If we don't use them anymore, we just disassociate them to not be used by any adgroup or campaign
- We cannot delete Sitelinks from the shared library with the API, but could use a manual process instead

Kind regards,

Christoph
