Adwords api create UAC failed for some account

hi,

    I found that some of my accounts has changed by Google Adwords with new Ad groups menu on the side bar. All the descriptions and images must be created under an Ad group??

  

   But the old Adwords api not working anymore for these accounts! How to fix ? Thx

the error code is OperationAccessDenied.OPERATION_NOT_PERMITTED_FOR_CAMPAIGN_TYPE

Hi Kim,

The "OperationAccessDenied.OPERATION_NOT_PERMITTED_FOR_CAMPAIGN_TYPE" error you are encountering indicates that you are using a mutate operation on a campaign type that is not supported in the AdWords API.

So I can further investigate and confirm, could you send to me the complete SOAP request and response logs? You may reply using the Reply privately to author option.

Hi Peter,

I think my client met the same issue, and it should related to this update.

What to make sure that after modified the code accordingly, Adwords API should support the operations of App campaigns with Ad groups, right?

As the ad group is only launched for part of the accounts, is there a recommended way to identify that whether the account is with ad group or not via API?

Currently, App Campaigns are not yet fully supported in the AdWords API. What is currently supported are Universal App Campaigns as you may see in this guide. That being said, applying ad groups to UACs is currently not supported. We also do not have any further information as to when the AdWords API can fully support App Campaigns and the addition of ad groups. For now, you may continue to follow our blog for any announcements or updates regarding this topic.

Hi Peter,

Do you mean, if the client needs to create App Campaign with Ad group, they must use Google Ads API?

But Google Ads API is still in beta version while Ad group has rolled out to client's account. It doesn't make sense to forcely roll out a feature that would make the API stop working.

Would you please help double check on that?

And another question is that whether Google Ads API support to create campaign that without an ad group?
