GenerateForecastMetrics without adding the actual campigan into a client

Hi Guys,

can i use GenerateForecastMetrics  of google ads to ger mtrix without actually creating the campaign and ads to a client?

am following this tutorial: https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/keyword-planning/generate-forecast-metrics?authuser=2

"The prerequisite to this code example is that a KeywordPlan needs to already exist"

so i am in development and would not want to realy create a plan just to test that the response is ok for now,

can that be done?

or should delete the plan after receiving  the response

Hi Yair,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I see that you have a question on Keyword Planner's Forecasting metrics that says it requires a KeywordPlan in order to work. If you see here the keywordPlanCampaign and keywordPlanAdGroup are there and required for forecasting purposes, as they set other criteria/keywords to target including CPC bid, network, location and language targeting, which would be beneficial to have in forecasting metrics. I would suggest to follow through with the Keyword Plan to obtain the metrics to see what changes you can make to your campaigns and adgroups. Let me know if you have further questions.

Hi,

Thank you so much for you help,

I understand why we need the keywordPlanCampaign and keywordPlanAdGroup, it is ok by me,

but i think that it this example the Plans are actually saved in the customer plan, and i would like to compare some plan and only save one of them, i.e the best one that suite me,

as i understand it the mutateKeywordPlanKeywords function   create a real plan , and i first want to compare between plans before actually saving them, how can i do that?

i would like to GenerateForecastMetrics for list of keywords without actually creating them for customer,

and if that forecast sute me then save the plan,

can you please help?
