This upcoming Extensions Feed-based to Asset-based  Migration is related to Google Ads API, not to Adwords API, correct? I.e. there is no need to migrate if we're still using Adwords API?

Thank you!

Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Based on this previous announcement, all ad extensions are migrating to the new Asset-based extension paradigm. This is applicable for both the API’s to update extensions support in your implementation and migrate existing Feed-based extensions to Asset-based extensions. You may check the affected services for the AdWords API and Google Ads API in the table from this blog post.

That said, you may also opt out individual customer accounts from the October automatic migration. That said, no resources will be created or modified in opted out accounts during the October automatic migration, and only the opted out accounts will be able to continue to issue CREATE and MUTATE requests after the October automatic migration.

In addition, please note that the AdWords API is deprecated and will sunset on April 27, 2022. We strongly recommend that you migrate to the Google Ads API as soon as possible.

To be up to date with important announcements such as sunset reminders and new releases, we recommend that you follow our developer blog.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

Regards,
