Question about AdGroupCriterionOperation

Hi AdWords API team,

I have a question about AdGroupCriterionOperation.

I do see that in the description "If you try to ADD a criterion that already exists, it will be treated as a SET operation on the existing criterion."

However, is there any way to prevent an ADD operation from being treated as a SET operation? Like a flag that we can set true or false to?

Hi Gawon,

There is currently no such feature available in the AdWords API. If you wish to avoid creating similar ad group criterion that would result to the original ad group criterion being updated, then you may implement a checker at your end by first retrieving the criterion belonging to your ad group using the AdGroupCriterionService.get to double check.
