How accurate are traffic predictions?

Hi,

I am starting to query the Adwords API for traffic predictions, I know for a fact that the numbers are not going to match exactly but I'm getting completely different results from what we have here on our database.

For example the keyword Public liability Insurance if I query with our campaind Id and adgroupd id for a maxCPC of 10 pounds I get that the average ad position is 3.28 when in the performance records we've got 1.7.

Is it only me experience this kind of results?
