APP Campaign Formats Question

Hello team, 

We are going to start using App campaigns.To be able to extract the data, please confirm what values correspond to this campaign:



AD_GROUP_TYPE = Please confirm this is an asset level campaign, so no ad group associated.
AD_FORMAT_TYPES (Ad Format Type) = ?
CAMPAIGN_BIDDING_STRATEGY_TYPE =?
ADVERTISING_CHANNEL_TYPE=?
ADVERTISING_CHANNEL_TYPE= APP_CAMPAIGN

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

To retrieve the data from app campaigns, I suggest the following:

• AD_GROUP_TYPE:  create an ad group using AdGroupService and do not specify a type for the ad group.
• AD_FORMAT_TYPES: Refer to this guide for ad format types for more detailed information.
• CAMPAIGN_BIDDING_STRATEGY_TYPE: Refer to this document for campaign bidding strategy types.
• ADVERTISING_CHANNEL_TYPE: Set this to MULTI_CHANNEL. All App campaigns in the Google Ads API have an advertising_channel_type of MULTI_CHANNEL, reflecting that ads from these campaigns can appear on multiple channels, including Google Search, Google Play, search partners, YouTube, the Google Display Network, Google AdMob, and other publishers who host app ads. Also, please note that If the advertising_channel_sub_type is APP_CAMPAIGN, you can't override bid settings at the ad group level.
