Which report can I use via the API to obtain the bid amount required 

1. to make the add a top of the page add
2. to make the add appear in the first page?

To answer your questions on how your ad will land on the top of the page and first page, I would suggest to use the following fields to get the specific bidding:

• https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/fields/v10/ad_group_criterion#ad_group_criterion.position_estimates.top_of_page_cpc_micros
• https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/fields/v10/ad_group_criterion#ad_group_criterion.position_estimates.first_page_cpc_micros

Then, set a value to your keywords that is higher than the returned value of the suggested fields.

Hi Werner,

Thank you for the replies.

In order to get the maxCPC bids, I recommended that you follow this report then include this field. As for setting of maxCPC, you can use the update operation of the AdGroupCriterionOperation to change the cpc_bid_mircos field of the AdGroupCriterion specifically of the keywords.
