here,
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/driving-mobile-app-downloads

there's a Java code sample, that sets a campaign's subtype:
campaign.advertisingChannelSubType = AdvertisingChannelSubType.SEARCH_MOBILE_APP;
When I asked here, on the forum, I was told several times that setting the Sub-Type is no possible via the API.

I want to set a campaign as "Mobile App Installs".
is it possible to set via the API?
Is it possible to set via "advertisingChannelSubType" ?

If yes, then where's the reference for all possible sub-types

Hello,

Yes, the Campaign object does support the advertisingChannelSubType. Please see that link for a list of all allowed values.

Hi Berry,

advertisingChannelSubType simply provides an additional refinement over advertisingChannelType when specifying the primary serving target for ads within this campaign. It is not the same setting as what you see on the AdWords UI as campaign subtype.

The UI's campaign's subtype is a flag to organize the campaign settings so that it makes more sense to the UI user. That setting doesn't matter to the API or for serving purposes.

Cheers,
Anash P. Oommen,
