Hello Team,
I am trying to integrate with Google Ad Words API to pull data in house for reporting and analytics. I am using an iPaaS platform Dell Boomi for integration (standard integration tool in the market) and Postman for testing the APIs prior to development with Boomi.

I followed the documentation and created an app, client id, secret as well as token. I was trying to use OAuth2.0 but it looks like it needs a callback/redirect url.

Is there a way I can authenticate from Postman API tool by issuing the ClientID/Secret and get an access token in the response which is the standard API authentication method, to get an access token and use that for retrieving data from reports?

Cheers,
Arun Ramesh

Hi Arun,

Thank you for reaching out! I see that you are looking to authenticate from the Postman API tool. I am not able to speak on behalf of the Postman API as this is a third-party tool separate from the Google products we support. To retrieve an access token through Google Ads API, you will have to follow this guide.

Thank you Danica!
I was trying to test the APIs using Postman, but we are planning to implement the APIs using Dell Boomi iPaaS platform. The integrations are planned to be run unattended to source data periodically. I see in the documentation that one of the steps in the authentication is a pop up granting access to the APIs. Since our integration is planned to be run unattended, I wanted to find out how authentication can be achieved without a person actually getting involved in the integration.

Hi Arun,

If you do not want a person getting involved in the integration, I suggest using a service account instead. A service account is an account that belongs to your application instead of to an individual end user. Service accounts allow server-to-server interactions between a web application and a Google service. Your application calls Google APIs on behalf of the service account, so users aren't directly involved. For more details as well as how to set up a service account, you can refer to this documentation.

Hope this helps!

Thank you!
I have an adapter that I am trying to configure and I am not able to sign into "Google Ad Manager". I am assuming the Google Ad Words/Google Ads support the Google Ad Manager Connector.

@arun

The Boomi Google Ad Manager connector you are attempting to use will NOT allow you to access data from the Google Ads/AdWords APIs.

Google Ad Manager is a completely different Google service.

Hi Arun,

As John mentioned, Google Ad Manager is a completely separate product from Google Ads API/AdWords API. If your concern pertains to the Google Ad Manager API, I suggest posting your concerns on their forum here.

Hi Arun,

Unfortunately, my team can only provide support via email so we won't be able to schedule a call. When you try to sign in to the page you mentioned, are you getting any errors? Can you confirm if you are logging in with a G Suite account as mentioned in this support article?
