Hi,

I want to retrieve performance estimation data when creating a campaign via API.  Could you advise which API can do this?

Thank you

Hi Nguyen,

Thank you for reaching us out. I am Sherwin from Google Ads API support team. I hope that you are doing well today.

Moving forward to your concern , upon checking to the screen shot that you provided, I can see that this is regarding Campaign Estimates.simulation. With this, please try using Reach Forecasting and Planning Services on your end to see if you will be able to get Campaign Estimates.

Please let us know if this works for you.

Kind regards,

Hi Sherwin,

Thanks for your information. Base on your reply, I just checked the Reacg Forcasting but don't see any place that I can input the placement like UI. And could you help to explain the product_mix? And I don't add the keyword when creating the campaign so seems like I can't use the planning service.

Hi Nguyen,

Thank you for getting back to us. I work with Sherwin and allow me to assist you here. I hope you are doing well today.

Please see my response to your question below.

1.) could you help to explain the product_mix?

Product Mix is addition to the targeting information, you must specify a product mix in order to generate a curve. There are two ways to do this.

Suggested mix - If you are not familiar with Google's video ad formats, then you can use the GenerateProductMixIdeas method to get a recommended split for a given budget in your currency and set of preferences including:

  • Whether or not you would like a guaranteed price on inventory.
  • If you would like video ad formats that include sound, are skippable or only show on top content.
  • ReachPlanAdLength

Manual mix - If you are already familiar with Google's video ad formats, the ListPlannableProducts method on ReachPlanService will show the latest available formats for a given location ID, represented by the plannable_product_code and plannable_product_name fields of ProductMetadata. Keep in mind that these values change periodically, so it is best to provide your users with live results rather than persisting responses offline.

Also, you may check this guide for your reference. This documentation contains of information about product mix.

2.) As for the screenshot in my first email, I need the information estimated about CPV, but in the document of 2 services, you give me I just only see the data of CPC. Could you helo take a look?

  • For this question, you may refer to this article. This article contains information about CPV.

Hi Nguyen,

Thank you for getting back to us. I hope you are doing well today.

Moving forward, regarding your question related to placement. The placement targeting could only be configured as negative using the Google Ads API. You could set it through the CampaignCriterionService and AdGroupCriterionService. For more information you could refer to this documentation.

HI,

So based on your information,  we can't input the placement when getting the reach forecasting right? We just input placement via API since we have created the campaign successfully. For the Campaign Estimates.simulation, we don't have any place to input the placement, is it correct? Thanks

Hi Nguyen,

Thank you for raising your concern to my team. I am also a member of the Google Ads API team and let me provide support to your concern.

Upon checking the documentation of the features that you mentioned, I can say that the placement could not be set on both features. Let me know if you have further questions.

Hi,
I checked on CampaignCriterionService that we allow to input placement in the request body, it's under object CampaignCriterion. So that means we can create the campaign with the placement list via API, is it correct?

Thanks,

Hi Kathy,

Thank you for the reply.

You may check this PlacementInfo in the CampaignCriterion as this can be used to modify bids for sites when targeting the content network.
