Invite others to access an account by email

In the Account Access tab of the account settings, I see the following:

Invite others to access this account

Send invitations to people to access this AdWords account. Your invitee can accept your invitation and access your account with their email address, even if their email is associated with other AdWords accounts. The invitee will be able to access the account immediately after accepting the invite. We'll notify you when your invitee responds.

New! You can now grant someone access to an AdWords account even if they already have access to another AdWords account.

Using the API, it seems we can only invite another MCC to get access to an account. ("must be a client or manager account that is not currently managed by a manager account in your hierarchy.") This does not seem to work like the new feature documented above - to grant anyone access to the account based on their email. Is there any way to do this using the API?

Hi,

The AdWords UI feature you are referring to is mainly on granting login access to another account which is only available in the AdWords UI and not supported via the AdWords API. This documentation you've mentioned earlier is particularly referring to sending of linking invitations to any client or manager account that is not currently managed by a manager account in your hierarchy by specifying their clientCustomerId.

Is it still the case that AdWords API does not support sending invitation to gmail accounts to gain access to a Google Ads account?
