Does uploadUserData rest API required on GoogleAds API audience upload user data process?

Hi GoogleAdsAPI community!

Now I've completed all of upload user data processes into ads audience user list. But I still have some questions about the way to upload user data into GoogleAdsAudience segment.

Here's what I've done

1. Create userList
2. Upload user data
   (https://googleads.googleapis.com/v12/customers/{myCustomerId}:uploadUserData)
   
3. Create offline job
4. Add operation into offline job
5. Run offline job

My question is...

Does step number 2 (Upload user data) still needed on upload user data into GoogleAdsAudience user list?

Hello, 

Thank you for reaching out to Google Ads API Forum.

As per this documentation (https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/remarketing/audience-types/customer-match), there are two services available to upload Customer Match data. If you choose to use the OfflineUserDataJobService, then there is no need for the step number 2 you mentioned. However, if you will use UserDataService, then you will need this method (https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/rest/reference/rest/v13/customers/uploadUserData) since this will upload the given user data.
