GoogleAdsAPI Metric all_conversions_value contains the value '1.0615878887974612E29'

Dear all,

I'm using v13 of the Google Ads API.

Metric all_conversions_value contains the value '1.0615878887974612E29'.
The following manual says that the data type of the all_conversions_value is DOUBLE, but I think the value '1.0615878887974612E29' is not DOUBLE.

I have the following questions.

1) Is exponential notation for all_conversions_value (like '1.0615878887974612E29') correct behavior?

2) Under what conditions is the number of all_conversions_value displayed in exponential notation (like '1.0615878887974612E29')?

3) In what cases will the all_conversions_value be a huge number?

To answer you in general, the metrics.all_conversions_value (https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/fields/v13/metrics#metrics.all_conversions_value) has DOUBLE as data type. You may refer to this guide (https://developers.google.com/discovery/v1/type-format) regarding Type and format summary. As stated in the guide, the double is a type value number floating point which means this value can contain decimal points.

Regarding Question 3, we are still waiting for response.

Hi Emiko,

For your question 3, because a double can store values in range 4.9e-324 (Double.MIN_VALUE) to 1.7976931348623157e308 (Double.MAX_VALUE), and its exponential form is the internal one used by every programming language (at least CPUs "sees" floats this way).

However, please use the workaround to convert from exponential format to regular numeric format. Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Abount question 3, it is a question of what kind of settings in Google Ads will increase the number of all_conversions_value to a huge value.

Question 3 is an advertising platform question, not an API question.
Should this question be asked elsewhere instead of here?

Please note that Fields of type Money are returned in micro currency units (micros) in the API. To have the same metrics.all_conversions_value as the console/UI you could simply divide the cost by 1000000.

The screen value is "106,158,788,879,746,100,000,000,000,000" and the API value is "1.0615878887974612E29",
and the numbers match, so there is no need to divide by 1000000.
