How to I get ad setting detail info from adwords api

Hi. I use a adwords api v201607.

I want to get ad setting detail information.

I try to AdGroupAdService. but didn't get.

how to I get ad setting detail info, what api, what servce?

Hello,

Do you mean adGroup setting? If yes, then you can use the AdGroupService to get its Setting (ExplorerAutoOptimizerSetting, TargetingSetting). If not, could you please elaborate what kind of setting detail you are looking for?

Exactly, I want to "TrueView" AdGroup infomation. Is it in-stream or dicovery ad? and what is that device targetting.

Hello,

TrueView ads have different video ad formats, TrueView in-stream video ads and TrueView video discovery ads. You may use the TemplateAd of AdWords API to create them. Additionally, device targeting allows you to show ads to the right people across all devices, based on specific location, time of day, and device type. This is implemented as Platform in AdWords API.

Jumping into this thread, hope you will be able to clarify this for me.

Is there any existing dimension that differentiate an Ad Type if it's either IN-STREAM or IN-DISCOVERY through the API?

I was told in the past that AdNetworkType1 and AdNetworkType2 hold values that can be considered as these but it proved to be inconsistent and not giving the expected results.

Hello Jenia,

Apologies for the delayed response. There is no direct way that I am aware of that you can get the report data if it's either in-stream or in-display ads. Since both ad formats can appear in YouTube watch pages and on videos on partner sites and additional point to in-display ads that can appear in Youtube search, Youtube videos, and Youtube homepage as discussed in this article, the fields AdNetworkType1 and AdNetworkType2 may not give the exact results that you need (to get report data based on ad format whether in-stream or in-display ads).

I recommend to keep an eye in our blog to check on future announcements about this feature. If you have more concerns about this, please open a new thread as this is a new concern from the original post.
