Custom Audience and Custom Affinity Switch With New API

Hi guys i have a question regarding how does one create a custom affinity and a custom audience.

I manage to create one custom audience and one custom affinity by api one has CUSTOM_AFFINITY type the other CUSTOM_INTENT but i think they are the same i cant see any difference.

Both of them have the tick on 

People with any of these interests or purchase intentions

My questions ... 

1. Does the custom affinity type(CUSTOM_INTENT, CUSTOM_AFFINITY) affect that tick

2. How can i select People who searched any of these terms on Google if the tick has no affect on it.

3 Does Providing a type(CUSTOM_INTENT, CUSTOM_AFFINITY) affect anything ?
