Hi.
I'm recently integrating Google Ads reports and am stuck on a DEVELOPER_TOKEN_PROHIBITED error. I was using a test token on our production application, of course, and now I'm unable to use the basic access token as described in the documentation. The solution is to create a new project and use the basic access token with it BUT a few months ago we've received an increased requests quota.
There is any way to move those quotas to the new one or reset the developer token on the old one?
Thanks.

For clarification - the quota I'm asking about is YouTube Data API v3 daily connection limit.

Hi Michal,

Thank you for raising this concern to the Google Ads API Forum.

To provide insights about DEVELOPER_TOKEN_PROHIBITED error is one of the AuthorizationError, you may check this document. However, if you increased requests quota then I can suggest applying for Standard access as it gives Unlimited operations / day. For more information, you may check these Access Levels and Permissible Use.

In the event that the error still persists, you may please provide the complete logs within the format of the  (request and response with request-id) that generated on your end. If you haven't yet, logging can be enabled by navigating to the Client libraries > Your client library (ex. Java) > Logging documentation, which you can access from this link.

For security purposes, you can provide it via the Reply privately to author option. If this option is not available, then send it instead on this email address googleadsapi-support@google.com.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

We have received the standard access token and it's ready to use. I'm familiar with how the developer token works, but I was unaware that the test token will also be tied with the GCP project.
The problem is that the extended quota that was negotiated for the project is not related to the token. We've received an increased YouTube Data API v3 daily connection limit, so there is no way to apply for that from the interface.

Hi,

Thank you for getting back to us. I am Carmela from the Google Ads API support team as well.

I can see that you have encountered the DEVELOPER_TOKEN_PROHIBITED error. Kindly note that as per this document, each Google API Console project can be associated with the developer token from only one manager account. Once you make a Google Ads API request, the developer token is permanently paired to the Google API Console project. If switching to a developer token under a new manager account, you first need to create a new Google API Console project for Google Ads API requests that use the new manager's token. If you don't use a new Google API Console project, you'll get a DEVELOPER_TOKEN_PROHIBITED error when making a request.

To conclude, you need to create a new Google API Console project because as mentioned above, you are receiving the said error because the developer token was already paired.

Can you confirm if this is possible on your end? If creating a new project is not possible, can you please provide the Manager account that contains the developer token, and the Google Cloud project number (e.g. 354025419297)? Also, note that that this change requires a manual database update, and could take a few days to complete.

Hi Carmela, thanks for the message.
Currently moving to the new project is a no-go solution, so it would be great if there is an option to update the token. The project ID is 878974274428 and the manager's account with the developer token that should be assigned to the project is 227-473-7250.

Thanks for the help, have a nice day.

Re-posting the last inquiry (https://groups.google.com/g/adwords-api/c/JMNikzYVrDg) from the forum as it wasn't routed to our support queue.

Greetings!

Thanks for checking in. I've checked in on this for you. It looks like it's in the queue to remap your project to the other developer token. I've pinged some folks to get this moved up in the queue.

Hello, the issue is still present. I'm not able to use the token with a related project.
