Data Studio connector

Hi AdWords API team,

I am building a Data Studio connector that fetches data from different sources like Spreadsheets, DCM, FacebookAds, etc.
We are now working on the AdWords part, and I would like to ask you some questions:

1) Do you have any sample files or guides for the API implementation using App Scripts?

2) Is there any Advanced Google Service (https://developers.google.com/apps-script/guides/services/advanced) available for AdWords? In the case of Spreasheets, we used one that helped us a lot.

3) The info we need to fetch from you API are:
   - Dimensions: Campaign Name, Ad Group, Date, Data source / Media platform and Creative
   - Metrics: Clicks, Impressions, Media Cost / Amount spent, Post click Conversions / Click Conversions and View Through Conversions / View Conversions
   Can you please confirm to me that this info is available from your API, and how/where can we get it?

Hi,

Since you will be using Apps Scripts in your implementation, then I assume that you will use the AdWords Scripts, instead of AdWords API for this. AdWords API does not support Apps Scripts but AdWords Scripts supports this. With this, please post this concern in the AdWords Scripts Forum for better assistance.

In regards to the dimensions and metrics you listed, you can get these from the different report types. For example, for CampaignName and AdGroupName, you can get them on the report types based on the links. For metrics such as Impressions and Clicks, you can also see the supported report types based on the links.

Thanks for your quick response.

As far as we see, the AdWords Scripts only run inside AdWords and cannot be executed externally, like from Data Studio, am I wrong?

Yes, you are correct, AdWords Scripts can only be run inside the AdWords UI. If you have further clarifications regarding this, please post in the AdWords Scripts Forum as their team can better guide you on this.
