Hi, if I wanted to use the new Google Ads API instead of the Google Adwords API to get targeting ideas where can I find their categories for the given keyword? It used to be included as AttributeType CATEGORY_PRODUCTS_AND_SERVICES

Thank you for raising this concern to the Google Ads API team.

Moving forward, "if I wanted to use the new Google Ads API instead of the Google Adwords API to get targeting ideas where can I find their categories for the given keyword? It used to be included as AttributeType CATEGORY_PRODUCTS_AND_SERVICES", it seems that this is about what is the equivalent of getting targeting ideas in the Google Ads API. Having said that, as per this document, kindly note that the Google Ads UI no longer supports product and services categories for keyword recommendations. As a result, this feature is not available in the Google Ads API. You can try adding a keyword seed containing a product, service category, or related term as an alternative.

Also, please note that the AdWords API is deprecated and will sunset this April 27, 2022, it means after this day requests in AdWords API will fail. We strongly recommend that you migrate to the Google Ads API as soon as possible.
