Report Field Combinations

I am building an application to download most/all of the reporting data available. Is there a way to determine valid field combinations without throwing errors, or is there a way to get the standard fields for each report type? In the notes there is some mention of compatibility, however if it can be avoided I would not like to sift through all these manually.

Hi,

The API does not provide compatibility information, but you will get an error from the report service if you select an invalid combination of fields on a given reporting request.

To get the list of available fields for a given report, you can use ReportDefinitionService.getReportFields.
