Access Adwords programmatically without OAuth

I want to use AdWords API to programmatically extract keywords related data in batch. The current solution I found is this as the way to request data. However, it asks for the application link and relates to user client data protection and request. I need to access api for my internal programmatic use of keyword planner and targeting ideas. I have the developer account on google and can access this data from UI, however, not programmatically. How to access the API in my case? I am interested in Keyword Planner and Targeting Ideas functionality however using python and not UI.

Thank you for reaching out. You could follow these steps to set up the Adwords API and make API calls for your MCC account: 

1. Apply for the Adwords API access by signing in then navigating to TOOLS & SETTINGS > SETUP > API Center and filling out the API access form. 

2. Create a test account following this guide. 

3. Get the client library set up using the steps listed here. 

4. Set up OAuth2 authentication following instructions in this guide. 

5. Make the first Adwords API call for the test account using the python client library.

Once you have it set up, you could use TargetingIdeaService to retrieve targeting ideas. You could refer to this guide for more information. Please let me know if you have any further concerns.

HI, 

If I am not using this in the app hosted somewhere but for my own analysis. What should I fill in as Logo for example in the consent screen? I do not have the app now which can interact with the API. I want to explore the functionality of AdWords API prior building the app. How do I do it ?

Thank you for reaching out. As you currently do not have the app, you could skip the app registration. Once you have built the app, you can come back to register the app. The purpose of having the consent screen is to help end users know who you are and contact you. Hi,

I got this and how it should operate. However, as in the previous consent config screens (from 2016) optional tags appeared where necessary. Now there is no this tags however, it’s possible to submit the screen with only name assigned which allows to issue Oauth2 tokens for test purposes. This is not clear from the documentation neither settings screen what took me while to understand how to proceed.
