Timing of adGroupType update to "SEARCH_DYNAMIC_ADS"

Hi Adwords team,

Regarding the blog post about update of the adgroup type to "SEARCH_DYNAMIC_ADS", can you elaborate regarding when/how often will adwords check which adgroups are eligible for type change to "SEARCH_DYNAMIC_ADS" and update the type - is this a one time operation, or is it recurring?

Sicne we moved to API 201705 several of our customers which use our management tool are blocked from creating new DSA ads on their non-DSA adgroupos via our tool. If they remove all non-DSA ads and keywords from their adgroup, will adwords update their adgroups type to "SEARCH_DYNAMIC_ADS"? 

If so when will that happen?

I'm not sure the specific plan for rollout for this change, so I'm going to do some digging on my side and I'll let you know more specifics once I have figured them all out.
