FinaUrls Readonly for some reason

Hello,

I'm integrating the latest version of the new Google Ads Api, but when I attempt to code the CreateAdGroupAd request in VB I noticed the property FinalUrls  is Readonly. However, in C# the property is not. I've attached a screenshot of the Metadata from a C# project & VB project.

Any assistance regarding this issue is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi Josh,

Thanks for reaching out. The final_urls field should not be read only. If you are receiving an error when an attempting to set a final URL to an ad, can you please provide us with the complete request and response logs?

Not sure if you got my last message as I tried to replay to author privately. What we are seeing is that in a .Net VB project, when utilizing the Google Ads Api .Net nuget package is that the compiler is seeing a syntax error when trying to assign the FinaUrls field of the Ad object meaning we are unable to build the project. I've attached a screenshot of the error. Because we are unable to build it means there is no Request or Response to supply to you. It seems like either the Nuget package is not compatible with .Net VB or there is a bug in the library for VB and not C#.

Thank you for sharing a screenshot containing your code.

An ad group ad's finalUrls attribute as mentioned earlier by Matt, should not be read only especially when you are using the AdGroupAdService to create the said ad. As an aside, for updating ads, you can use the AdService instead.

That being said, since you mentioned you are just only creating the ad and the issue is at the code level as seen in your screenshot, I would recommend that you reach out instead to the client library owners, via this link (.NET / C#), as they should be more equipped to provide guidance on this issue.
