Google Ads API V9 ETA

Hi, 

Currently our company is using the Google Adwords API v201809, which is set to be depreciated on 4/27/2022. We would like to start developing for Google Ads api, but we don't want to start development for V8, since V9 is slated to be released soon.

Is there a more detailed release date for V9 other than Oct/Nov?  https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/sunset-dates

With regard to your concern, I'm afraid the link that you provided is the only available page that contains information regarding V9. However, we would recommend to keep an eye on our developer blog for updates regarding this upcoming version release.

Hi Teejay,

well I was wondering the same thing, because the deprecation date for v8 is tomorrow, October 27, 2021 - according to the deprecation schedule.

It would be nice of you guys to give us better ETAs than a 2 month period, at least for the next version in each case. We have to plan our resources too.

This was escalated all the way up to me. First, thanks for pointing out the inconsistency on the v8 deprecation date; I'll get that sorted out. I'm happy to hear that you're planning on migrating.

As for the 2 month window, I can give our perspective on that. We got feedback that folks wanted to know further in advance when a release may come out. As a result, our Google Ads API team got together with a general release timeline so you can plan resources a bit more throughout the year. There are times when we may release a bit earlier in that window if a cool feature comes out in Google Ads, and we want to get it to you sooner, or we may release a little later in that window if a feature takes a bit more time to code. Unfortunately, at this time we can't get any more pinpointed than that 2 month window as a result of that. I will take that feedback back to the team, and if there's any way that we can narrow it in the future, we will.
