Hello Google Ads Support Team,

I hope you are doing well.

While reviewing the Shared Budgets section in Google Ads (screenshot attached), I noticed that the table includes columns such as:

  • Campaigns
  • Clicks

  • Impressions

  • CTR

  • Avg. CPC

  • Cost

  • Interactions

  • Interaction rate

  • Avg. cost

  • Conversions and there are many

I would like clarification on where these metrics are sourced from when using the Google Ads API / gRPC services. Specifically:

  1. Which API service or resource provides these metrics for Shared Budgets?

  2. Are these fields aggregated from the underlying campaigns linked to the shared budget, or are they directly available via a specific API endpoint?

  3. If aggregated, could you confirm whether the reporting data aligns with the fields in the campaign_budget or customer level reports?

This information will help us map the Shared Budget UI data (as shown in the attached screenshot) to the correct API services for reporting and automation.

Thank you for your guidance and support.

Best regards,
Khushboo

Hi,

Thank you for contacting the Google Ads API support team.

In order to retrieve the field values present in the provided screenshot, you can use the campaign_budget report. For shared budgets, you just need to set the field ‘campaign_budget.explicitly_shared’ as TRUE. Please refer to the sample GAQL query below.

SELECT campaign_budget.id, campaign_budget.name, campaign.name, metrics.clicks, metrics.impressions, metrics.ctr,
metrics.average_cpc, metrics.cost_micros, metrics.interactions, metrics.interaction_rate, metrics.average_cost, metrics.conversions
FROM campaign_budget
WHERE campaign_budget.explicitly_shared = TRUE

If you are facing any issues, kindly get back to us with your Google Ads customer Id and explanation of the issue faced. You can send the details via Reply privately to the author option, or direct private reply to this email.

Thanks,
