Hello support,
I have some questions about the new brand guidelines in Performance Max, how these guidelines will effect properties of campaigns and on what timepath we can expect these changes.
Brand name and Logos are assets that we currently sync as `AssetGroupAssets`. The brand guidelines prescribe that these type of assets will be moved up to campaign level. We have to start syncing those assets as `CampaignAssets`.
Can you verify if I understand this correctly:
As I understand, the value `campaign.brand_guideline_enabled` is a discriminator to decide on what level (AssetGroup vs Campaign) the assets of types BrandName and Logos MUST be applied. When these assets are set at the wrong level (AssetGroup or Campaign), this will lead to an error.
Next to that, my questions are:
Can we expect the value of `campaign.brand_guideline_enabled` to 'suddanly' change from false to true for our existing campaigns, because of an automatically applied migration by Google? If so, when?
V18 of the API states that all Performance Max campaigns will be created with `brand_guidelines_enabled` set to false. Will this value stay false, if not updated manually in the Google Ads UI?
Our use case:
Our application creates campaigns + asset groups automatically. Based on input, a list of products, users configure campaigns and asset groups in our User Interface, using column names as placeholders.
Currently, users are required to set Brand Name and Logos in their configuration for creating Asset Groups. We want to apply the new brand guidelines as smooth as possible. For that, it is important to know if and when will the property `brand_guidelines_enabled` be migrated automatically. Especially for existing campaigns and changes in asset groups that we sync through the Google Ads API.
