Possible to retrieve invoices through API?

Hi there,

I have been searching this group for my question, but did only find

I guess the last post actually answers my question, but it is rather
old so maybe it is possible now. Anyways, here it goes:

We have got an MCC account with a whole lot of subaccounts (i guess
that's what they're called?). For accounting purposes, we need to
extract all the invoices from 2010. Since each subaccount has an
invoice for about every months, it will take days to do this manually
(unless i have overseen some fancy invoice-export-feature).

Is it possible to retrieve these invoices from the API?

This seems to be a very old thread, I would strongly recommend that you create a new thread for any future concerns. However, to address your question, downloading invoices is currently not supported in the AdWords API. I would recommend that you follow our blog for any future updates or announcements regarding this feature.

Thanks for your reply. Having the same need - being able to retrieve the invoices through the API -, I stumbled upon this thread, which is certainly old but well indexed in Google :)

Maybe if many people continue to reply to it, this feature could go up in the to do list of the Adwords API team (I know you have plenty of other features to add already).

@Milind: It does eight years (and surely more years) that agencies are asking for this feature. Every month, our clients or agencies have to go into sub menu and deep features to find a mandatory document: the invoice.

I don't really understand why Google doesn't want to provide an easy way to retrieve it. Is it a security problem ?

At least, if this is not possible through API, an automatic email to the payment contact would be helpful.

We wish the Adwords API would support fetching invoices as well.  Its 2018 and the idea of manually getting your own billing data seems old school and is pretty laborious.  Google is incredible with their APIs, but leave out billing (Adwords, G Suite, etc.). In the meantime we have a solution for automating the retrieval and helping break them down by client (if necessary).  We currently use it to fetch our own invoices.  Since we're in the business of automating this kind of data and streamlining it for other companies, we're happy to chat if it would work for you.  Reach out via https://www.greenback.com/contact if there's any interest.

Yes indeed, this is a much much needed feature. 

Today, only accounts which are billed on a monthly basis (5000 usd per month over 12 months) can get their invoices sent to them via email.

For all others: login, click click click click click click and download. Every single month. Times the amount of payments.

This is simply crazy.

Google, please wake up and either enable this via the API or enable invoices to be emailed!

I thought about it too (more than 150 invoices to retrieve and send to my clients each month). Maybe using something like iMacros or PhantomJS.

Hi Ankur,

AdWords API reports can only be generated per client account as discussed here. If what you wish is to retrieve the reports for all client accounts under a specific MCC account, you can refer to the Parallel Report Download example (also available in other languages) as this should allow you to do just that.

As for invoice information, this is currently not supported in the AdWords API. You may continue to follow our blog for updates.

Finally, what did you do about the problem to retrieve automatically the invoice ?

Google has recently changed the process and the UX. I am thinking about trying a js script to retrieve them one by one but it seems really complicated as the UX is not really easy to manipulate.

Unfortunately, InvoiceServices, as stated on its documentation site:
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/billing/invoice

is only available for clients with monthly invoicing enabled.

This, however, does not solve the problem for a great many other clients who have no choice but to pull the PDF directly from the Google Ads account. It would be a much needed improvement if at least the PDF invoices could be pulled from these accounts using the Google Ads API. This would save countless hours of pointless clicking around to get the latest invoice PDF for all active accounts.

I really think Google will never add this feature in the API or Google Apps Script. Why? I really never understood.
