creating mcc test accounts -

To whom it may concern:

In https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/first-call/overview#test_account there is mention that a test account can be created, if you already have a manager account, can you make a test account? I am asking because I don't get an option to create a test account and the chat option given on account creation mentioned they don't manage test account creation and sent me here.

https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/first-api-call#test_vs_production_accounts states the test account has to be from a different ldap and I succeded in making a test mcc account, could the documentation be updated in ads api?

I am struggling a lot to create a mcc test account.

@Google Ads API Team: the doc is not clear at all. Instructions to create a test account is "create a test account" it is not enough when the UI is not intuitive.

Hi Guillaume,

I followed the instructions in Adwords API - https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/accounts-overview#test_accounts, it states there "Note: You must have a separate Google account for your test manager account since a Google account is restricted to one root manager account."

Thank you for reply on this forum post.

In AdWords API, it is correct that you will need to use a separate Google account for your test manager account according to this document.

As for the Google Ads API document for creating test account, it allows you to create a test account using an existing Google account which has access to existing Google Ads account. You just need to click the first link of this guide and after redirected to the another UI, then click the NEW GOOGLE ADS ACCOUNT option. This is because this link is exclusively use for creating test manager account.

However, since the document is not aligned to the actual UI of creating test account, then allow me to raise it to our team.

In addition, I would suggest following our blog to receive updates and new releases.

Hi all,

I think I solved the issue I had.

Basically, I was logged in with multiple Google accounts.

Everytime I tried the URL you gave me, it took me to https://ads.google.com/aw/campaigns/new/express instead, which of course would not work.

To solve my issue, I used the incognito mode, went on the link, then signed in to a Google Account without an ad account.
