Hi,

When viewing the CSVs  (several different versions) on https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/geotargeting, I'm noticing what seems to be almost completely identical geotarget locations, with a different criteriaID.  For example, there are duplicates for the following geotargets:

99099,Thuringia,Germany
Bellingham,Massachusetts,United States
Brewster,Massachusetts,United States
Bukit Kayu Hitam,Kedah,Malaysia
Cabot,Vermont,United States
Cyberjaya,Selangor,Malaysia  - This one has a duplicate for both the targettype city and targettype cityregion.

There are altogether 27 duplicate geotargets.  I've attached the latest CSV for reference.

Can you please explain why?

Thanks,
Tzirel

Hi Tzirel,

There are locations that has the same location names but they have different Target Type, so both have different Criteria IDs. For example, for "Bellingham,Massachusetts,United States", the criteria ID is 9051581 if the target type is City, while, if the target type is Neighborhood, the criteria ID is 1018117.

You can just use the criteria ID for the city if you are targeting the city itself. Let me know if you have further clarifications.

Thanks,
Vincent
