Hey Guys!

I've searched the group for my doubt, but I couldn't find anything. Sorry if this is already answered.

I'm a COMPLETE beginner on programming and API world and I'm having a hard time understand what I need to start, and actually, where to start.

My Objective: Create dashboard on a web page that will pull some basic information from an account. For now, it would be basic stuff like Daily results within a given period (start and end date).

My question: Where the hell do I begin and what do I need to get there?

I know I have a LONG path ahead to get there. I'm not here to ask for the codes, but to study and learn. I'd love to get some directions on where to start and stuff I need.

Some of my doubts so far:

1. I think I need to decide a primary language from the many available on the library (which one is best for a web application?)
2. Do I need a data base of some kind to store the data or is it pulled directly from AdWords? (if I need, where do I learn?)
3. Do I need any softwares? (which one(s))?

Sorry if those are lame questions, but I'm really a beginner on this and my head is melting in doubts. Please, bear with me, you all started somewhere also :)

Hope someone can help and guide.

Hi Leandro,

Please refer below for my answers to your questions :

To start using the AdWords API, you may refer to our sign up guide to setup your account and sign up for basic access. You may then refer here on how to generate your OAuth2 credentials and to this guide on how to make your first api call.

For your other questions :

1. I think I need to decide a primary language from the many available on the library (which one is best for a web application?)
This will primarily depend on which language you or the developers are most comfortable with to use.

2. Do I need a data base of some kind to store the data or is it pulled directly from AdWords? (if I need, where do I learn?)
The AdWords API already provides you the data when you use the GET method. The use of an external database would be up to the developers or the client if you or they wish to have your own copy of the data.

3. Do I need any softwares? (which one(s))?
There is currently no supplemental softwares that is required when developing using the AdWords API rather than an IDE software you would use to modify or develop using the client libaries

I hope this has been helpful and please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Best regards,
Peter
