Hi team,

We are continuously facing Concurrent modification error messageMultiple requests were attempting to modify the same resource at once. Retry the request. We have even implemented a locking mechanism on adGroupId to create all ads under it one by one.
Also after reading various forums where you suggesting retrying after 30secs,  we even retry after 5 secs and exponentially back it off by a factor of 2 with max attempts of 7. We are observing that even after a delay of 90 secs we have received the above error. Note that we were trying to create around 152 adGroups with 3 ads each (456 ads).
Here is a list of requestIds that we received against each error for an ad that continuously failed -

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

By reviewing your query, I understand that you are getting the  "CONCURRENT_MODIFICATION" error. This error occurs due to multiple processes that are trying to update the same entity at the same time. We recommend waiting for about 30 seconds, then retry the request.

In order to assist you further, kindly provide us with the complete API logs (request and response with request-id and request header) generated at your end and uncropped UI screenshot of the Google Ads account where you are facing the issue.

If you are using a client library and haven't enabled the logging yet, I would request you to enable logging for the specific client library that you are using. You can refer to the guides Java.NetPHPPythonRuby or Perl to enable logging at your end. For REST interface requests, you can enable logging via the curl command by using the -i flag.

You can send the details via Reply privately to the author option, or direct private reply to this email.
