Error after upgrading to google-ads library v38.0.0 (v20): Could not initialize class CustomerServiceStubSettings$Builder

Dear Google Ads API Support Team,

I have upgraded the Google Ads API to v20, using the google-ads Java client library version 38.0.0. However, when I try to retrieve accessible customers with the following call:

googleAdsClient.getLatestVersion().createCustomerServiceClient()

- Example reference: https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/samples/get-account-hierarchy

I encounter this error:

Could not initialize class com.google.ads.googleads.v20.services.stub.CustomerServiceStubSettings$Builder

I confirmed that with the previous version v18 (using google-ads version 34.0.0), the same code runs without any issues.
Is there a known issue with the v20 library or a potential incompatibility that I should be aware of?

It appears that your issue is more on the implementation or integration of Java client libraries rather than anything specific to the Google Ads API itself. Note that our team can only be able to assist on technical issues and implementations of the Google Ads API.
