Replicating the "Placement" field

Hi,
We're working on trying to replicate the "Placements" view with the Google Ads API. We've noticed that the dimension "Placement" in the UI seems to be split among several different dimensions in the API.

• What is the complete list of dimensions we need to bring in from the API to cover all possible "Placement" values?

• Is there a way to get placement by youtube channel names? The only values for Youtube channel placements we've gotten was from "ad_group_criterion.youtube_channel.channel_id".

Thanks for raising your concern.

I am afraid that in Google Ads API, the 3 sections (PLACEMENTS, WHERE ADS SHOWED, and EXCLUSIONS) under placement tab don't have direct equivalent report types in the said API. You may refer to this document as it discussed how to map different report types of Google Ads API in the UI.

However, you may try to use the following report types to get the nearest results for the 3 sections of the placement tab:

• You can use the managed_placement_view for PLACEMENTS
• You can use the group_placement_view for WHERE ADS SHOWED
• You can use the campaign_criterion, set campaign_criterion.negative to 'false' in WHERE clause and include campaign_criterion.placement.url in the SELECT clause

Moving forward to your question on how to get placement by YouTube channel names, I am afraid that this is not possible. You can only filter the report by its channel id or the channel code using ad_group_criterion.youtube_channel.channel_id that you've mentioned.
