Inquiry Regarding Campaign Data Retrieval for App Install Campaigns via Google Ads API

We are currently utilizing the Google Ads Client API version 32.0.0 to retrieve campaign-related details. While we are able to successfully obtain data from the click_view table for display campaigns, we are encountering an issue where the result set is consistently empty for app install campaigns.

Could you please clarify whether the click_view table supports app install campaigns? If it does not, we would appreciate guidance on how to retrieve the campaign name from a GCLID for app install campaigns.

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

Kindly note that retrieving the click_view data for the app campaigns is not yet supported in the Google Ads API. Also, the App Campaign Legacy (installs) are not supported in the Google Ads API but are supported in the UI. This applies to both geographic and non-geographic reporting as well.

I will raise a request for this feature to become available in the Google Ads API, but right now it's expected that this data doesn't return in the click view. I would recommend you please follow our Release Notes and Blog Post for future updates.
