Hi, is there any possibilty to achieve creating new ProductPartition in ShoppingCampaing, which is Biddable, but with CPC set only at AdGroup level?

When i try to create BiddableAdGroupCriterion:
  • without biddingStrategyConfiguration - error, it's required
  • without biddingStrategyConfiguration.bids - error, it's required
  • with biddingStrategyConfiguration.bids[].bid = 0 - erorr, it's invalid bid
  • with biddingStrategyConfiguration.biddingStrategyType = 'NONE' - error, it's not permitted for shopping campaign

So is there any other way to create BiddableAdGroupCriterion (ProductPartition UNIT type) without setting CPC (and achieve CpcBidSource = GROUP instead of CRITERION). AdWords UI can do this.

I have no answer but just to let you know we encountered the same thing. Could not set up a product partition without setting en explicit bid.
Came to the conclusion there wasn't much value in having separate ad groups within a Shopping campaign at all. Just price at product partition level.

Hi Jakub, David,

At the moment every ProductPartition must have it's own bid, or a NegativeAdGroupCriterion in the case that you don't want to bid.

There is no way to fall back to the default bid for the AdGroup.

Cheers,
Mat

Hi Mat,

I just ran into the same problem and was wondering whether this is perhaps possible by now (given that your post is from 2 years ago)?
Is there any way to create a new ProductPartition, that inherits its CPC bid from the Adgroup, via the API?

Thanks,
Robert

Hi Robert,

I'm afraid this option is not available in the AdWords API as of now. Please keep an eye on our blog for any announcements about this feature.

Please create a new post for your query in the future to avoid spam of the original topic participants.
