Could not apply AdNetworkType2 segment to Keyword Performence Report

Hi,

We are downloading Keyword Performence Report data by calling its API. In code, we have applied below 4 segments to the report. -

·         AdNetworkType2

·         Device

·         ClickType

·         Date


This is working correctly.

Now we are trying to generate similar report from AdWords UI side. For this we go to Campaigns tab -> then Keywords tab (from left side panel). Here we have to download report with same fields and similar segments. For this we click on Download icon -> select segments. The segment dropdown doesn't contain AdNetworkType2 or Network (with search partners) field.

Can you please help me, how can I apply AdNetworkType2 segment to the report?

Also while applying more than 3 segments, its showing message 'If you include multiple segments, your download may not be completed'. Can I get correct data after applying 4 segments?

Hi Ketaki,

I tried to recreate your issue, but through the UI, I was able to add only 3 segments. However, each time I added a segment, 'Network (with search partners)' did show up as one of the items in the dropdown list. To troubleshoot further, could you send across a screenshot of the UI, when you get the error message? Also, since this issue pertains to the UI, I would also suggest you to post your question on the advertiser community forum so that the product experts there will be able to provide their comments.

Hi Dhanya,

I have attached the screenshot where I am in Keywords tab and selected required 3 segments, but the forth segment NetworkType2/ Network(with search partners) is not available in dropdown list.

The second file has a screenshot of warning message I got, if I select more than 3 segments.

Hi Ketaki,

Please find my responses below for both your attachments:
segmentSelection.png: Would it be possible to take a screenshot of the same with your internet browser window maximized? For example, mine shows up with 'Network (with search partners)' as one of the items in the dropdown list when I maximize my internet browser window. Please see attachment with_network_search_para.png.
WarningMsg.PNG: You get this warning because with each segment added, your number of rows will increase exponentially. Therefore, there is a possibility that you will have huge data which will cause the download to hang. My suggestion would be to utilize API for this requirement. Please refer this guide for better clarity and let me know if you have further questions.

Hi Dhanya,

 I tried with maximizing my browser window but still couldn't find Network (with search partners) segment in the dropdown.

Below are the steps i followed to get Keyword Report for an account. 
  • After login, i go to Campaigns tab. 
  • In Campaigns Report, I click on the particular account for which i want to view report.
  • After clicking on the account name, it showed all campaigns within that account; along with the left bar having different options like - Campaigns, Ad Groups, Ads and Extensions, Landing pages, Keywords, Audiences etc.
  • I clicked on Keywords tab to view keyword report for this account.
  • Within this report, i am trying to download report with applying multiple segments, where i couldn't find Network(with search partners)

Can you please confirm, these steps are correct to get the Keyword Performance report?

Hi Ketaki,

Your steps are correct and I have tried to recreate the issue again at my side with your steps listed above, but I still do get the option:Network(with search partners) in my dropdown list. Since it is an issue at the web interface, at this point, I would highly recommend you to take the help of a product expert who can answer your question at the advertiser community forum

Thank you for your help.

I found that segment Network(with search partners) is available in the drop down, when i select another account's keywords. I mean this segment is available in Keywords tab's download options only for some accounts and not for all. 

Is there any setting by which we can enable this segment for all the accounts?

Sorry to hear you have not been helped yet. Could you reply back with responses to the below?

1. Your client customer id.
2. One account where the Network(with search partners) option is available in the drop down list.
3. One account where the Network(with search partners) option is NOT available in the drop down list.
4. As you had mentioned in the first email, when you call the Keyword Performance Report data by calling its API, is the data consistent in API and UI, for NetworkType2/ Network(with search partners)? If you can, could you please send a screenshot as well?

As per the reply,
- Accounts where the segment Network(with search partners) is NOT available in the drop down list, are Display campaigns. and,
- Accounts where the segment Network(with search partners) is available in the drop down list, are Search campaigns.

I got this point. But if this is the case, how does the segment Network(with search partners) applies to Display campaigns by the AdWords API call?
Because we are getting data for Display campaigns by applying this segments in the API call.

Hi Ketaki,

I ran the keywords performance report and was able to generate the stats too. If you check for Network (with search partners) column in the report, 'Display Network' value is populated. As said previously segment type AdNetworkType2 is not available in AdWords UI for display campaign. However, in UI, you could check display network stats. Let me know if you have any further questions.
