Just starting out with the API and I'm a bit confused about the limits quoted in the documentation. Does this mean that I have a lifetime limit on these services before my access is permanently shutoff? For instance, can I only use the TrafficEstimatorService 2500 times before I lose access forever?

I was hoping to leverage my data science skills with this API but it seems like this limits are designed specifically to prevent such approaches in Adwords.

Hi Jacob,

The API limits documentation only specifies the corresponding error that will be thrown when the limit is exceeded and have no specific mention on permanent shutoff.

As per Traffic Estimator limit guide, the TrafficEstimatorError.TOO_MANY_KEYWORD_ESTIMATE_REQUESTS error will only be thrown if the 2500 keyword estimates limit is exceeded per request.

Taking into consideration the daily operational limit, I suggest that you create multiple separate requests instead of sending a single request for more than 2500 keyword estimates. Also, you might want to consider upgrading your account (if it's not yet) to Standard Access to have unlimited daily operational limit but still taking into consideration the rate limits in place.
