Hi,
I'm not sure if it's a proper place to ask, but I can't find any other place to ask this, maybe somebody knows:

I've paused a campaign because of some broken destination urls within its ads, but after that Google started to request some of the destination urls from IPs 66.249.89.32,66.249.91.40 (which are owned by Google as I can see) even though the campaign is paused and there is no other traffic. So for 2 days already Google hits broken urls on our website. Do you know why can it be? Does Google usually request urls from ads? Does it do it on inactive caecmpaigs, adgroups, ads?

Thanks in advance,
Sergey

Hello Sergey,

It is normal for Google to crawl the destination URLs of your ads. This helps to ensure that ads lead to useful landing pages and is part of determining the quality score for your ad and its criteria. If you want to prevent this, you will need to actually delete the offending criteria and ads.
