I'm trying to track phone calls from an external source as conversions using an import conversion action.

Following the code sample from here: https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/conversion-tracking#uploading_offline_call_conversions I can't get it to work. My API calls all end up returning

[OfflineCallConversionError.INVALID_CALL @ operations[0].operand]

Anyone successfully tracked offline calls through this and have this working?

Hi Paul,

The OfflineCallConversionError.INVALID_CALL occurs when we are unable to import a conversion for this call, since either this call or the click leading to the call was not found in our system. Could you please ensure that your uploaded clicks really belong to the account of your credential used to make SOAP calls. To ensure the clicks are really belongs to that account, please run the Click Performance Report for the targeted client account around the date the click is generated and see if that GCLID is present on the reports. If not that click doesn't belongs to the targeting account.

If you still encounter the same issue after following the steps mentioned above, kindly provide the complete SOAP request and response logs when importing the conversion via reply privately to author so I could better assist you.

Regards,
Dannison

Thanks for the response Dannison,

As far as I can tell there is no click to associate with the call (the only data that gets associated with the call is the "caller id" which should just be the source phone #).

The account I'm working with is a test account that doesn't have any live campaigns - could this probably be the issue?

Actually I tested with a live account - that has other (non-import) conversion actions working just fine - and got the exact same error.

Does importing calls require that we are using a Google Forwarding number?
