Hi Team,
I am in the process of creating an ad, and while selecting images, I observed the following on the "Choose images" screen. I would appreciate your guidance on API-level access for these features:
Is there an API available to retrieve the Recent Assets shown in the UI (I currently see 5 such images)?
When I provide a Final URL, the UI suggests images based on website content and displays Free Stock Images. Is there a way to fetch similar suggestions via the Google Ads API?
Is there any beta or finalized API available to programmatically generate images as shown under the "Generated Images (Beta)" section?
Is there any API available that can fetch images from a website or social media by supplying a URL (similar to the "Scan another website or social media" option in the UI)?
If direct APIs are not available, I would greatly appreciate any recommended alternative approaches or workarounds to these functionalities.
Thank you for your support.
I hope you're doing well.
Just following up on my previous query. I completely understand you're handling multiple support requests, but I’d appreciate it if you could share any update or estimated timeline for a response.
Looking forward to your guidance.
Hi,
Thank you for contacting the Google Ads API support team.
Please refer to the below response to your queries respectively.
1. Is there an API available to retrieve the Recent Assets shown in the UI (I currently see 5 such images)?
To further assist you on API availability for what you're seeing as "Recent Assets" in the UI, could you please provide a uncropped Google Ads UI screenshot of those assets?
Additionally, I would recommend you check out the Assets API documentation to get started. There are various asset types that you can report on. For more information, you can refer to ad_group_asset and campaign_asset resources, which link assets to specific ad groups and campaigns, respectively.
2. When I provide a Final URL, the UI suggests images based on website content and displays Free Stock Images. Is there a way to fetch similar suggestions via the Google Ads API?I understand you're looking for a way to programmatically get image suggestions similar to what the UI offers when you provide a Final URL. Could you please share a screenshot of where you see these suggestions (both website content-based and free stock images) in the Google Ads UI?
3. Is there any beta or finalized API available to programmatically generate images as shown under the "Generated Images" section?
For further clarification on if there's an API available for the "Generated Images" functionality, please provide an uncropped screenshot of this section in the Google Ads UI.
4. Is there any API available that can fetch images from a website or social media by supplying a URL (similar to the "Scan another website or social media" option in the UI)?Regarding the capability to fetch images from a URL, similar to the "Scan another website or social media" option. Please share an uncropped screenshot of this specific option in the Google Ads UI, to further check and assist you on this,
You can send the details via Reply privately to the author option, or direct private reply to this email.

Hi,
Unfortunately, the balance information/remaining budget is not directly accessible via API. However, as a workaround, you can compute this information by subtracting the customer's cost_micros field from your known budget. That being said, I will raise a request for this feature to become available in the Google Ads API. However, I cannot provide a scheduled timeline for its availability in the API. So, I would recommend you follow our blog post and release notes for future updates.
Regarding fetching/using the free stock images data via the Google Ads API. However, I am afraid that this is not supported in the Google Ads API.
