Hey Google Ads Team
with introduction of primary status, we are seeing a behavior on Google Ads UI where when we select campaign's  status as Enabled on UI we see less number of campaigns as we are getting more number of campaigns in APi when campaign.status = 'ENABLED'.

To match the number of campaigns we have to use campaign.primary_status IN ('ELIGIBLE','LEARNING','LIMITED','MISCONFIGURED','NOT_ELIGIBLE','PENDING')

Can you confirm the behavior and provide any reference documents for this so we can match the behavior on Google Ads UI and also understand this better.

Hi Hoshank,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Ads API Forum.

Note that the field campaign.primary_status will be the primary status of the campaign. It provides insight into why a campaign is not serving or not serving optimally. Modification to the campaign and its related entities might take a while to be reflected in this status. Since you mentioned that you are getting more campaigns in API when campaign.status = 'ENABLED', then for us to investigate further, could you provide us the following?

  1. Provide the complete request and response logs with request ID generated on your end
  2. Screenshots from the Ads UI without cropping
  3. Sample comparison of the AdWords API and Google Ads API report data where we can see the said discrepancies

For the client library, logging can be enabled by navigating to the Client libraries > Your client library (ex Java) > Logging documentation, which you can access from this link. Kindly send the above requested details via reply privately to author option.
