Hi,

We are using Adwords API to retrieve reports that include these four columns: Bounce rate, Pages / session, Avg. session duration and % new sessions. The problem is that when we compare the values retrieved from the reporting API to the reports downloaded from My Client Center (MCC) Client Reporting site, we get different values.

We are hoping you can help us get the same values from the reporting API that we get from MMC. We retrieve reports from the API using AWQL.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

Hi Mark,

Please take a look at the Help Center article on cross-account reporting, particularly the portions regarding when stats are updated for the MCC view. If that does not explain the discrepancies, please send the following only to me by clicking Reply to Author:
  1. Your MCC ID (xxx-xxx-xxxx)
  2. The AdWords account IDs you're looking at under the MCC
  3. The report request you are sending to the API
  4. A screenshot of the stats you are seeing on the MCC UI
Thanks,
Josh, AdWords API Team

Hi Josh,

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I'm still asking for permission to send you the IDs. I'm not sure how to send you the report request (item #3) though as I am using the AdWords API Dotnet Client Library and Ads API Dotnet Common Library. If you could send me steps on how to do this I would appreciate it. As for the screenshot of stats (item #4), I'm not sure how that would be useful to you since it contains a lot of data. Can I just send you the CSV file downloaded from MCC?

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Mark,

You can enable logging in the .NET client library to capture your report requests. A CSV of the MCC view is fine, but could you also indicate any filters & date ranges you selected to create the CSV so I can reproduce the report on my side?

Thanks,
Josh, AdWords API Team

Hi Josh,

I just sent you a private reply but since it isn't displayed here, I have know way of knowing if it reached you or not. Please let me know if you got it.

Thanks,

Mark

what predicates are you using in your API?
Try to use same predicates for your code and Adwords account. The difference may be due to difference in predicates i.e in your application you might getting data for only active keyword while in adwords account you are seeing all keywords (including paused, removed) etc. Also make sure you are using same dates for google adwords and your application code.
Make sure filters applied in adwords account are same as predicates in your application code.
