Hi Team,

We recently uploaded an audience to Google Ads via the API & are seeing audience sizes are appearing at 12K for the display network & 10K but are below the limit for serving on Search. The original list size was 99K+ emails & match rate was only about 21%.

Is this normal behavior fo customer match audience uploads via the Google Ads API?

Thanks,
Brent Aydon

Hi Brent,

Thank you for raising this concern to the Google Ads API team.

Moving forward to your concern, "Is this normal behavior for customer match audience uploads via the Google Ads API?", could you confirm if you encountered errors when you uploaded the customer match audience? If yes, then could you provide the complete request and response logs with request ID and request header generated on your end to further investigate this? You can provide it via Reply privately to author option. If this option is not available, then send it instead on this email address googleadsa...@google.com

Furthermore, if you didn't receive any errors then I would suggest reaching out to the Product team via this link as they are the ones who can further explain this.

Hey Brent,

The matching process can take up to 48 hours so if you just uploaded the list then you should wait longer to see if match rate improves. You need 1000 users active in the last 30 days to use an audience for search - if you uploaded a list of 100k emails you should be good. Overall, 21% would be a low match rate.
