Hi:
Im trying to upload ads to adwords through the API and had this policy error:

See the full policy, isExemtable=true, violatingParts=[Part{index=66, length=4}]}, PolicyViolationError{super=PolicyViolationError.POLICY_ERROR @ operations[1].operand.ad.description, key=PolicyViolationKey{policyName=nonstandard_punctuation,violatingText=web!}, externalPolicyName=Symbols, externalPolicyUrl=, externalPolicyDescription=Google ads aren't allowed to have excessive or unnecessary punctuation or symbols such as the following:

Exclamation mark in the ad's headline or more than one per ad

Repeated punctuation or symbols (such as "!!!!free!!!")

Characters that don't adhere to their true meaning (such as "4 sale" or "for $@le")

Non-standard symbols (such as ~, *, and |) except in a company name or standard industry use (such as "5* hotel")

I really dont understand what is the problem... The full description is: "new site web!"

Can anyone help me? Its really important for our ads creations

Thanks!

Hi Mike,

Your may experience these errors if your ad violates any of the Google AdWords policies. For example, I can see that you used a punctuation mark in the description, which should not be a problem unless you used the punctuation mark twice in the same ad. Since the isExemtable flag is set to true, you can submit a policy exemption request via the API. They can refer to this document for more details.
