Howdy,

Since a couple of days we've been getting "UNEXPECTED_INTERNAL_API_ERROR" whenever we try to add keywords to a shared set.
If there are more than 1000 keywords in a single slice the failure happens almost always so retrying doesn't help.

Please find attached the request to the SharedSetService.

The response to that is:
<soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">\n  <soap:Body>\n    <soap:Fault>\n      <faultcode>soap:Server</faultcode>\n      <faultstring>InternalApiError.UNEXPECTED_INTERNAL_API_ERROR @ com.google.ads.api.services.common.error.InternalApiError.<init>(InternalApiErro</faultstring>\n      <detail>\n        <ApiExceptionFault xmlns="https://adwords.google.com/api/adwords/cm/v201809">\n          <message>InternalApiError.UNEXPECTED_INTERNAL_API_ERROR @ com.google.ads.api.services.common.error.InternalApiError.<init>(InternalApiErro</message>\n          <ApplicationException.Type>ApiException</ApplicationException.Type>\n          <errors xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:type="InternalApiError">\n            <fieldPath/>\n            <trigger/>\n            <errorString>InternalApiError.UNEXPECTED_INTERNAL_API_ERROR</errorString>\n            <ApiError.Type>InternalApiError</ApiError.Type>\n            <reason>UNEXPECTED_INTERNAL_API_ERROR</reason>\n          </errors>\n        </ApiExceptionFault>\n      </detail>\n    </soap:Fault>\n  </soap:Body>\n</soap:Envelope>\n'
WARNING:googleads.soap:Error summary: {'faultMessage': 'InternalApiError.UNEXPECTED_INTERNAL_API_ERROR @ com.google.ads.api.services.common.error.InternalApiError.<init>(InternalApiErro', 'serviceName': 'SharedCriterionService', 'methodName': 'mutate'}

Note that we tried this in both the test and normal Google Ads accounts, every time creating a new SharedSet.

Thank for taking a look!

Cheers

Just chiming in to say you aren't alone with this issue. We started encountering the same thing as of ~4pm EST yesterday. Reached out to email support, no response yet.

Hi,

I've reported this to the team that maintains that service and will provide an update as soon as I have more information.

In the meantime, if you happen to see that this error has subsided, please let me know.

Thanks,
Josh, Google Ads API Team

Hi,

Thanks for the update. It looks like they rolled out the fix late yesterday. Glad to hear it's working for you again.

Cheers,
