view-through conversion broken down by conversion action

Hi,

Is there a way to get view-though conversion numbers by different conversion action using API?

Hi Yao,

Thank you for posting your concern.

There is currently no report type in Google Ads API and AdWords API that can directly use to return this set of data. The reason is, The conversion_action report of Google Ads API, use for retrieving data / statistics at conversion action level, doesn't have any fields that will return this metric. As for the AdWords API, the conversion_action doesn't have equivalent report on this API.

As a workaround, I would suggest using Account Performance Report of AdWords API, then include the ConversionTypeName and the ViewThroughConversions and it will return the same set of data that you are looking for. You may refer to this document if you want to get the equivalent of the suggested report type and fields in Google Ads API.

Thanks for your reply.

In the conversion_action report, I see view_through_lookback_window_days is listed under Resource Fields. Does this mean that a conversion action can be an interaction-through or view-through conversion? If that is the case and if we can differentiate the two type, can we get the number of click/interaction-through conversions segmented by conversion action name?

Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks!

Hi Yao,

Could you provide more details about the interaction-through? However, please note that the conversion_action has limited metric fields so it is not possible to derive the metrics that you are looking using this report type and view_through_lookback_window_days.

Hi,

I call it "Interaction-through", which basically means conversions reported in the conversion columns. For video, it is the conversions that are resulted after interactions.

Does this mean view-through conversion can only be accessed using Google Ads UI? Can you give me an example of how to make use of view_through_lookback_window_days to report conversion actions?
