Different data values in API reports and in Adwords

Hey,

 

I exported the API Ad Performance and Criteria Performance reports, and filtered on time (04/05/17 - 05/29/17) and on campaign ID, in order to analyse the cost per ad and per keyword, for given campaigns.

 

I encountered several problems:

Firstly, the data received on each report is different.

Secondly, the data on either report is different to the data shown in the Adwords online platform.

Thirdly, when I add more parameters that should not affect the cost on each report, the data for a given campaign in a given time continues to change.

 

What could be the issue? Please assist.

Hi Yoav,

Data generated from the Ad Performance Report could possibly be different with the Criteria Performance Report as each report aggregate statistics at different entity levels. The former is at the ad level while the other is at the ad group criteria level.

As for the discrepancies with the generated statistics in the AdWords UI, could you reply to us privately (using reply privately to author option) with the report definitions used for each report, the actual generated reports from the API, and the screenshot of the reports generated in the AdWords UI?
